Hello Linda, What a pleasant surprise to see this post of the way you renovated your charming, old-fashioned bathroom. Your artistic touch is certainly not limited to quilts and sewing. It has been one of my dreams to have a fine old house filled with interesting old things. Incidentally, what is that thing next to the wooden dresser? It looks like an old vending machine, but there is not a clear photo of it.

Hello Jim. Thank you for your vote of confidence. Next to the walnut dresser is a 3-bay gumball machine. We have a small collection of them. What is interesting for me about this gumball machine is the housing color. It is a grayed-green and was the inspiration color for the beadboard wall paint color, "Bewitch" by Valspar. Usually I have gumballs in the machine, but over the years the gumballs faded in color. I bought a new 4 lb. bag of gumballs but haven't poured them into the vending machine yet. I took the first three photos of the bathroom recently. It was a very sunny morning. Not much has changed since we converted this small bedroom in May 2009--into a much needed 2nd bath upstairs. In closing, I want to say thank you for looking at my blog. It's been a long time since we corresponded. I'll go visit your site now, to see what you've been doing. I miss your "mystery-item" blogs. Always a challenge.
